For a piece of you
To fit into the puzzle of forte ?
It's been a long time since my latest adventure, but at last I found an alluring spot of inspiration. It is a commercial city, by the name of Ingenio. Around this period, an annual festival is being held at the town square. And well yes I'm very lucky to be a part of the event, not only because it occurs only once a year, but due to a unique ritual that you're going to experience yourself with this tale..

Perhaps not long after the sun started to exhibit itself, the people have marched along the road with their families and friends. Like me, not everyone here is the occupant of the city, and after several observation I notice a simple way to distinguish us from others : Every citizen carries a piece of board with them, in different shapes, sizes and colors. Hmm, that's interesting, I guess. I don't have any idea of what that's all about, so I just keep following the crowd to the final destination.
By the way, the town square is quite eye-catching. Surrounded by high walls which look likes a fortress, there's a giant picture illustrated on the ground covering this place. It doesn't look very clearly though so I land my sight onto the center of the square where the major has just arrived to deliver the opening speech.
"Good morning ladies and gentlemen, our beloved citizens and visitors, I welcome all of you to our annual event of Ingenio.", he addresses.
"This event is being held to remind us of the substantial values we hold that binds us compact and unified as a developed community. This square is actually a huge painting made by our ancestor as you can see from higher ground."
As he said that last sentence, I climb the wall nearby to see that the drawing is exactly the landscape of a town, and it's very beautiful especially after receiving a gentle touch from the morning sunlight.
"As some of you might notice, our citizens should have brought a piece of board in which a small part of this painting is inscribed in every of them. In this event, our task is to put these pieces so that it fits with the right part of the painting. Although most of the activities should be done by our citizens, we welcome every other people to observe or to even help them to find the right spot for their pieces. Enjoy and let's do our best to finish the puzzle !"
Cheers and claps are coming from the audience, and without further delay, they start to move around with haste. It's fun to see them trying to do their job, especially when some people bring a really big piece, almost bigger than himself !! While others have a really small piece comparable to one's palm. The environment itself is pretty warm, as the children grins, the women are laughing and the boys are talking to each other looking for any hints available.
Two hour passes, and about fifty percent of the square has been covered by the board pieces. Most of the adults have finished their task, and they're now trying to help the little ones to complete the event as soon as they can. People with smaller pieces do have a harder mission on hand, some of them almost give up and throw their piece, but with the kind-hearted aid from some of the visitors, many of them are finally able to put down their pieces on the right area. It's a pleasure to see such cooperation exists and not only doing each other's parts.
As everything's almost complete, I suddenly realize the deep meaning of this puzzle matching event. Probably I could stay longer to hear's the major's explanation, but I know I'd better off and have some time to write this memorable experience...

You see, each of us is given unique abilities and talents, or what we call as fortes. Some people have it mountain-sized, they could rock the world with their inspiring speaking skills, genius problem-solving mind or spellbinding musical composition. Other group of people don't have any idea whether they own one or not. But no matter what kind or how major it is, we can't complete this world with our own capabilities, as a citizen can't complete the huge puzzle him/herselves.
On the other hand, every small pieces is equally as important as other pieces. Big pieces do occupy bigger area than the small pieces, but without small pieces, the puzzle's still not done yet; it might even fall apart as an aeroplane could be on its way to to malfunction without a single screw. To cover bigger area means to have bigger responsibility, and isn't that a fair tradeoff to those who have bigger talents ?
You have a role in this life, and no matter how small it is, don't ever underestimate yours ! People are made distinct not for us to boast each other's fortes, but for us to cooperate and complete each other for a far bigger purpose. I only hope that you someday; if haven't; understand that purpose and realize that to be responsible to your given talents is one important step of achieving it.
